Nevada Revised Statutes

Boat Muffling laws are serious business.
If you can’t hold a normal conversation on your boat, it may be too loud. All motorboats must comply with motorboat noise statutes, which are outlined in the attached PDF document.

Nevada Revised Statutues - Boating Laws

Basic laws to know:

  • Persons born on or after January 1, 1983 will need to have completed a boating education course to operate a motorboat of more than 15 horsepower on Nevada’s interstate waters.

  • Children under the age of 13 are required to wear a life jacket when under way on a vessel unless in an
    enclosed cabin.
