INTRODUCTION TO FLY-FISHING CLASS IN SOUTHERN REGION
Those who are interested in learning to fly-fish may want to attend a free introductory fly-fishing class being offered by the Nevada Department of Wildlife Angler Education Program. The first session of the two-part class will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Fri., July 10, at the ABC Park on Adams Blvd. in Boulder City. The second session, which will involve casting, will be held the following day, Sat. July 11, from 8 – 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City.
This class will include instruction in fly-casting, knot tying, terminology and equipment as well as presentation. The Boulder City Parks & Recreation Department is handling registration for the class. They can be reached at 702-293-9256. There is a $5 fee for the class.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and manages fish and wildlife, and promotes fishing, hunting, and boating safety. NDOW’s wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are primarily funded by sportsmen’s license and conservation fees and a federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear. Support wildlife and habitat conservation in Nevada by purchasing a hunting, fishing, or combination license. For more information, visit www.ndow.org. |
