NDOW SPONSORS INTRODUCTION TO FLY FISHING
The Nevada Department of Wildlife is sponsoring an Introduction to Fly Fishing clinic starting 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday July 9, 2009 with continued instruction on Saturday July 11, at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This clinic is designed for entry-level anglers and is free to all participants. The class is limited to the first 15 who enroll. Participants are not required to attend both days if they have previous fly fishing experience in casting.
What: Class is geared for entry level fly anglers. We will demonstrate techniques for fishing still water, float tube safety, gear and aquatic insects.
When: Thursday July 9, 2009, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday July 11, 2009, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Thursday July 9, Winnemucca Youth Center, 380 East Haskell, Saturday July 11, Knott Creek Reservoir.
Sign-ups: Pre-registration is required. For more information call the Department of Wildlife at 688-1559.
Ages: Minimum 10 years of age. An adult must accompany all children.
Bring: Participants are requested to provide their own tackle. A limited number of rods are available for use by those who do not have their own fishing equipment. Note: A fishing license is required for those 12 years of age and older.
